Energy Literacy!

April 5, 2012

Welcome to the Path 2 Resilience blog! I started this blog in July of 2011, but started anew a few months back as I re-envision my web presence. Over time I’ll reintroduce many of the old posts as essays or similar works, so old posts aren’t gone, they’re just back on the drawing board for the moment. I’ve also been asked to write guest-posts for other websites and blogs, so I will link to those here as well so people get a broader sense of my work.

While I’m here, I’d like to point out that my longstanding dream of offering classes is on the verge of being realized! I’m currently offering a course on Energy Literacy through the University of Vermont, and it’s been well-received by my students. I understand that college tuition is prohibitively expensive for many, and that the schedules common to college courses don’t always fit into people’s lives. My goal is to offer university-quality courses in my community that meet once each week for a month or two, offering people a chance to immerse themselves into a supportive learning environment on a schedule that works for them without burdensome homework assignments or the threat of being ‘graded’.

I’m still working out details of location and timing, but interested folks should check out the Education page to view offerings. Of particular note is the course on Energy Literacy, which will be my first offering. You can get a sense on the Education page of the other courses I’d like to offer, and hopefully I’ll get them scheduled soon!
